[LinkedinBlogger] Linkedin: C.Y.B.E.R. F.L.O.W. - Can You Blog Enough Reasons....??

C.Y.B.E.R. F.L.O.W.
Can You Blog Enough Reasons For Linking Our Work??

I've created a few Linkedin-oriented properties which
I'd like to ask you to blog about.

If you let me know what you've blogged and if you are
opened to it, I'd like to use your blog statement as
the homepage description for the particular Linkedin
group/subject you choose to blog about from the list
below.  This list covers most of the Linkedin fora
I've created ~130+ groups/newsletters.

In addition to using your description for the
particular discussion group's homepage, I'll* include
a link to your blog in the homepagess description
section.  It could help your blog
attendance/links/connections, etc.  Um, it could help
your blog's popularity - that's what I was trying to
say! See why I need your help?:-)

Additionally, I'm looking for Lead Moderators to help
moderate some of the groups below as well.  If you
serve as the Subject Matter Expert, I'll be a VERY
SILENT backup for your group should you need my help.

If interested to blog about a particular subject or to
Lead Moderate a particular group, please write to me
at Linkedin at MyLinkedinPowerForum.com

Thanks for helping me answer the CYBER FLOW question:
Can You Blog Enough Reasons For Linking Our Work?????

[LinkedinBlogger] 1 of My Top 5 Introductions!: MLPF Group on Linkedin Groups IS WORKING!

Hi, Everyone,
I just had one of those exhilirating moments in
business that makes the tough moments all seem
worthwhile: I just passed on an introduction
introducing 2 of my first degree connections to each
other here in the local Hartford, CT market.

The thing that makes this forward request so nice is
that they both have a past company in common.

The thing that makes it nicer is that they both are
now working in the Hartford area with yours truly.

The thing that makes it nicer still is that each is
talking with me about separate business possibilities
- that make sense on their own merit.  And can be even
better if the 3 of us can work something out together.

But THE thing that's got me smiling most this morning
is the fact that their contact is occuring as a result
of the new MLPF Group on Linkedin Groups!

I'm really jazzed about 2 strong local business people
coming to know each other through our week old group
on Linkedin Groups!

We're just a week old today and as of this writing
have 338 members.  Apparently those 338 members are
already networking among themselves.   I hope you are
already benefiting from it, too!  If so, let us know!

I feel good about situations like this, my friends!
:-)

Makes it all worthwhile!

THANKS!!

[LinkedinBlogger] Helping Serendipity: The CIA TIP Tip for Replacing QvQ

A Few Crossposted Thoughts on Replacing QvQ

While others are free to talk about business
networking in whatever terms that work best for them,
as a networker who is deeply depending upon networking
as a way of life, I could care less about the tiresome
“quality versus quantity” argument as currently
formed.  Nor do I care about its latest iteration in
disguise, the “promiscuous versus celibacy” argument
and the linguistic traps in which both of these
equally banal concepts can corner us.

Neither argument solves my business networking issues
- nor yours – nor do they solve much else as far as I
can see. For me, neither has contributed anything to
the enhancement of professional business networking
and neither gets to the heart of the matter to address
my immediate needs as someone who’s networking with a
business purpose in mind.

Quantity versus Quality is like having the H in one
hand and the 2O in the other – WHILE YOU DIE OF THIRST
because you never blended them together so that they
could FLOW TOGETHER to bring vitality to your life!
When you're thirsty, you need H2O!  I'm thirsty!

Because I don’t believe in trying to dismiss a thing
without coming up with a positive replacement, I’d
like to suggest a possible alternative
conceptualization of the networking universe.  I call
it The “C.I.A. T.I.P” Tip.

Let me explain:

Quantity versus quality is about dichotomy, breaking
things down, analysis.

The “C.I.A. T.I.P” Tip is about chemistry, a blending
of elements, bringing things together, a kaizen, a
synthesis of things.

In using The “C.I.A. T.I.P” Tip for your business
life, it is okay to visit the subjects of quantity and
quality, but these elements must now be seen as
continually FLOWING together towards a centralized
PURPOSE.

And that purpose is to get wealth - the purpose behind
the purpose of our being in business in the first
place.

Deep down we know we want to get wealth so that we can
live dynamically – POWERFULLY – and FEEL JOYOUSLY
ALIVE, FULLY alive in the process of networking on
purpose!

That is all that matters. Not quantity by itself; not
quality by itself; but, rather, quantity and quality
both interactively alive in our lives, generating the
power to live and to do business - and to do business
DYNAMICALLY better.

While the “C.I.A. T.I.P.” Tip is not just about
“quantity v quality”, it is also not about charts and
lines, nor even degrees. – For if 6 Billion people
were 1 degree away from you and you couldn’t influence
at least 1 person to come together to help you do
business better, you and your business are in for a
long dry haul on your way through a short business
life.

The “C.I.A. T.I.P.” Tip is about interactivity. LOTS
of interactivity.  FLOWING interactivity. Kaizen
interactivity.  The “C.I.A. T.I.P.” Tip is about
communication.   Dynamism.   Energy.   Interacting
with people.  The very thing life is about.  Indeed,
The “C.I.A. T.I.P.” Tip is about LIFE!  Not charts.
Not lines.  Not degrees.

Though Linkedin is my favorite platform and the one I
intend to pay even MORE attention to as I seek to earn
a 6 figure income in using Linkedin over the next 12
months, it doesn’t matter to me whether its topology
is 4 degrees of separation or 3 or 2 or 1.

You can’t interact with degrees or lines or charts.

You can only interact with people.

Successfully finding people, attracting people,
bringing people together, retaining people together,
and moving them towards a specific business purpose,
towards the light I can see from time to time, is the
way I plan to get wealth and to live more dynamically
over the next 12 months.  (A change from my former 3
month view.)

It is energy and ability and speed that you need.  It
is power that you need, power from people.

IF you’re going to solve your problems through the
concept of networking to get the power you need from
people, then the concept of networking boils down to
these three things:

1. Confluence
2. Influence and
3. Affluence

1. To get the power you need, you must bring people
together: That's Confluence
2. To bring people together, you must effectively
communicate with them: That's Influence
3. To derive power from people, you must interact with
them the right way: That's the way to Affluence

1. Confluence is what most people think of as
“networking”.

2. Influence is actually closer to networking as I see
it.  For in addition to practicing effective
communication skills here, you can also put into
practice such true networking concepts as “givers
gain”. It is about such matter as diplomacy, courtesy,
respect, persuasion, etc.

3. In the last one, Affluence - the right way – is
VERY IMPORTANT.  The right way is about the HOW of
relationship building from creation to nurturance to
growth to maintenance & repair.  It is about power
generation at its best. It's about commitment,
fortitude, persistent determination, believing long
enough, etc.

NOTE: It is intentional that all three C.I.A. concepts
suggest “flow”, “water”, “liquidity”, fluidity”.
There is so much power in flow that we sometimes look
right through it.  And for those who think that “flow”
as a concept is powerless or anemic, think about the
power “flow” displayed on December 26th, 2004.
Humanity was helpless against that particular flow.  A
flow whose associated earthquake was so powerful, it
affected the earth’s rotation and LITERALLY CHANGED
TIME that day.  The C.I.A. concept can change time for
you, too.  Giving you more of it by helping you have
an abundance of hands continually available to help at
just the time you need them: the right time -
proactively.

If you can keep your focus on Confluence, Influence,
and Affluence, and if you can work on getting them
positively interacting in a balanced way in your life,
THIS IS POWER!  You’ll be giving yourself power.  Real
living power.  And that’s the best networking power
T.I.P. I can give you today.

Thanks!

NOTE: I think classical language has greater
flexibility and greater power with which to influence
the 3.2 Million Linkedin users from around the world
than the vernacular language that merely seems to have
power but only gets that impression of power from its
ability to annoy and to drag discourse off course -
and downward at that.  We can be strong and POWERFUL –
WITHOUT HAVING TO BE PROFANE.

[LinkedinBlogger] Something Konstantin Said..

Some have asked me about my passion for Linkedin and
what drives me to invest so much time in creating so
many vehicles focusing on Linkedin rather than other
platforms that we're all well aware of.

For me, it's very simple to answer and its simplicity
derives from something Konstantin Guericke says in his
Linkedin Profile at:
https://www.linkedin.com/profile?viewProfile=&key=1244

There, Konstantin says,

"LinkedIn demonstrates that the business world is a
much smaller place than people commonly think, and I
hope people will learn from this that it's best to
behave as if you live in a small town where you can't
hide things and your actions determine your
reputation."

I cannot possibly put into words how powerfully
consonant that single sentence is with my own
worldview of networking - whether business, social, or
a hybrid of them.  (Especially since I'm behind
schedule today! :-))

The worldview in that simple statement is my
worldview.  It's how I look at things. It's the way I
prefer to be, though, as yet, I've not been as
successful as I'd prefer to be in living up to the
standard.  But, as a publically declared dreamer,
demonstrating my dreaming penchant right in front of
you, it's the dream I am happy to throw my complete
energy, strength, and imagination into pursuing.

If Linkedin management believes and practices that
statement, then, irrespective of its technology, it's
the exact right place for me to practice networking.
I'll learn its technology if its principles of
operation are sound.   Konstantin's profile statement
suggests that Linkedin's principles are sound enough
for my best efforts.

Thanks!

[LinkedinBlogger] ADMIN: Ending a Conversation, Starting the MLPF RAP Group!

Because I want to help keep MLPF the most valuable
place on the Internet for you to learn about Linkedin
and because I don't want to be culpable in suppressing
your rights to free speech in talking about religion
and politics, I've set up the MLPF RAP Group!

No, it's not a "rap" group!  You don't have to worry
about "gittin' jiggy wit it"! :-)

MLPF RAP is a place for MLPF members who want to rap
about Religion And Politics to talk - as MUCH as they
want.

To be clear: MLPF does not suppress free speech - it
narrows free speech to the subject at hand.   MLPF's
mission is to focus on helping Linkedin members to
power up their networking through lively discussion,
tools, and techniques related to our use of
Linkedin.com as a networking/referral platform.

MLPF-RAP is a place for members of MLPF to come and
talk about Religion and Politics until they are blue
in the face.  (And that is not to be prejudicial
against any other colors in the spectrum of human face
colors! :-))

Talk as much as you want about Religion.

Talk as much as you want about Politics.

If your blood boils about something, let it help you
to write out your true feelings.

But, as MLPF members, I encourage you to try to
convert all your conversations into a positive
conclusion.  (After all, we're still about networking.
And networking is about building up, not tearing
down.)

Because you will be able to say what you want about
religion and politics, and anything else here on MLPF
RAP, this site will NOT be an RSS site.  (It is for
your own networking protection to keep your religious
and political views as private as we can make them
here in this MLPF RAP group!)

Come!  RAP to your heart's delight on MLPF RAP!

[LinkedinBlogger] Seeking Recommendations for Networker of the Month for July 2005

I realize that we're already on day 12 of the month of
July but, I thought I'd seek your input for anyone you
see who might be N.E.T.W.O.R.K.I.N.G. the right way.

I'd like to be clear: This is not about social
science.  It's about our mutual INSPIRATION - It's
about whether someone has created a favorable enough
impression on us for us to express it publicly - and
to help keep us going in our networking on days when
we may feel too drained to continue on our own.

Here are the 10 N.E.T.W.O.R.K.I.N.G. criteria I'd
prefer to work with but I'm open to others which you
feel are more compelling:

1. Network - Does the person have or intend to have a
vibrantly alive network?

2. Energy - Does the person let their energy shine
through their creativity & knowledge?

3. Thoughtfulness - Is the person THOUGHTFUL in
sharing with others?

4. Work - Does the person DO GOOD QUALITY WORK?

5. Organization - Is the person organized enough to
minimize wasting other networkers’ time?

6. Recruiting - Can the person recruit a wide variety
of people to hold the network together?

7. Knowledge - Does the person have current & relevant
knowledge of the networking field?

8. Interdependence - Does the person work well
independently as well as with others?

9. Nurturance - Does the person add value &
encouragement to the people in their network?

10. Givers Gain - Does the person use giving as a way
of networking for life?

I'd like to invite you to join me in bringing good
networkers to the attention of My Linkedin Power
Forum.

Please send your private recommendations to me at
either:

or

[LinkedinBlogger] COURTESY Ratings for Snippers who SNIP was Re: Responsiveness ratings for Forwarders and Contacts

Does anyone here care to advance a civil means of
getting the professionals on this forum to simply snip
their messages?

It's amazing to me that such brilliant men and women -
men and women who can solve all kinds of issues and
demonstrate such beautiful thinking skills - cannot
self-moderate on such a simple subject as snipping
messages.

At a certain level, isn't snipping also demonstrative
of your concern, your respect for others?  If nothing
else, snipping your messages is an exercise in
thoughtfulness.

And is it possible to be a good networker without
being proficient at such simple graces as courtesy?
Concern? Respect? Thoughtfulness?

Out of courtesy and respect for you, I've snipped the
5,226 characters in the unsnipped messages that
generated this plea.

Thanks!

More good news, Everyone! :-)

Joe Bartling has agreed to let me offer all new MLPF
members his book, "How To Double Your Income in Six

Joe has done an outstanding job in introducing us to
networking via the Linkedin way.  And he's done it in
a succinct, yet sensible and clear style.  Very easy
to read and very informative.

"if you haven't already done so, I strongly, strongly,
strongly  encourage you to read the book!!  Within 90
minutes with it, you'll  feel better about your
knowledge of Linkedin!"

A few other ways of getting to Joe's book:

[LinkedinBlogger] Linkedin Montage at Montage-a-Google

Here's one for those of you who may be more visually
oriented than text oriented.

Grant Robinson's Montage-a-Google permits you to
search Google based on images.

The difference?

It builds the search results into a montage.

Once the montage is created, you'll be able to click
on different parts of the montage to look at search
results.

I typed in the word "LinkedIn" and entertained myself
for a lot longer than I'm gonna admit! :-)

Here's the URL:
http://grant.robinson.name/projects/montage-a-google/

Try it! - You'll like it!

[LinkedinBlogger] MLPF Official Group on Linkedin!!

Hi, Everyone,
Many of you have privately and publicly asked me about
My Linkedin Power Forum becoming an officially
recognized Linkedin group. Of course, being an
officially recognized Linkedin group would allow us to
use our group icon on Linkedin to help our ~1,500 MLPF
members to more easily recognize and network with each
other on Linkedin.

Well, there’s a lot of new Linkedin power coming your
way!!  I'm happy to bring to your attention a note
from Linkedin positively addressing this issue, at
last!

In a message written to MLPF by Robert Leathern,
LinkedIn Director of Marketing, we were told:

<snip>"MLPF should have its own LinkedIn group quite
soon, it is in process (one thing to keep in mind is
that groups are launched on a two-week cycle)." Robert
Leathern, LinkedIn Director of Marketing<snip> For
your reference this message is in our archives at MLPF
Message 4463 Fri Jul 1, 2005 9:47 pm From that date
stamp, I believe we should be officially up and
running by July 15th!!

Immediately upon our receiving the instructions on
setting up the group on Linkedin, we will share the
appropriate link with you.   Of course, as members of
MLPF, to make it easy for you to become a member of
the official MLPF group on Linkedin, you will
automatically receive your invitation the same day.

NOTE: We encourage you to invite friends, family, and
business associates who may need a business or career
boost to join us both here on My Linkedin Power Forum
as well as join our official group on Linkedin
because, "Our business is bringing Linkedin power to
business!"

I look forward to helping you to power up the Linkedin
way!

[LinkedinBlogger] My Linkedin Power Forum is del.icio.us! :-)

My Linkedin Power Forum is del.icio.us!  :-)

For those of you who use del.icio.us to keep track of
your bookmarks/bookmarklets, please visit us here:
http://del.icio.us/MyLinkedinPowerForum

Please NOTE: The del.icio.us URL does not have a .com
or .edu etc., associated with its address.

For those of you not yet familiar with this intriguing
little bit of technology, below is a brief overview
from del.icio.us:

About del.icio.us
"» del.icio.us is a social bookmarks manager. It
allows you to easily add sites you like to your
personal collection of links, to categorize those
sites with keywords, and to share your collection not
only between your own browsers and machines, but also
with others.

» Once you've registered for the service, you add a
simple bookmarklet to your browser (see below). When
you find a web page you'd like to add to your list,
you simply select the del.icio.us bookmarklet, and
you'll be prompted for a information about the page.
You can add descriptive terms to group similar links
together, modify the title of the page, and add
extended notes for yourself or for others.

» You can access your list of links from any web
browser. By default, your links are shown to you in
reverse chronological order, with those you've added
most recently at the top. In addition to viewing by
date, you can also view all links in a specific
category (you define your own categories as you add
the links), or search your links for keywords.

» What makes del.icio.us a social system is its
ability to let you see the links that others have
collected, as well as showing you who else has
bookmarked a specific site. You can also view the
links collected by others, and subscribe to the links
of people whose lists you find interesting."

To find out more, visit http://del.icio.us/

Isn't life del.icio.us? :-)

[LinkedinBlogger] Givers Gain + MyJobGenius is now MyJobTIGER!

On June 17th, I was surprised by a gift to me of a 3
year old, 620 member jobs group on Yahoo called
MyJobGenius.

Because I still have an inordinately high level of
passion for recruiting and coaching, I gladly accepted
the jobs group.

Imagine!  With all the groups I've given away, someone
gave ME a group!:-)

I changed the group's name to MyJobTIGER in order to
help motivate job seekers to help themselves by
focusing on one of my favorite acronymic mantras:
Today, I'll Get Even Richer!

I created this little acronym to foster a mentality
that has nothing to do with greed - but everything to
do with prospering in your career and in your life.

I’ve made the name change not merely because of new
ownership of the group but because of the great
importance of attitude in conducting a timely and
successful job search for you and your family.

Your job search is no time to be timid, meek, shy, a
lamb. Today, you must focus, focus, focus on finding
the right opportunity for you and your family. You
must be more assertive than you may have been
comfortable being in the past.

And while this may not be comfortable for you to
contemplate, as an experienced recruiter and career
coach, I've seen too many wonderfully talented people
miss out on great career opportunities by not trying
their best – every day – for at least 4 hours per day.
Your job search must be your job until your search
finds you a job.

You should work at it with the same assertiveness,
professionalism, concentration, and intensity of
purpose as you would if you were working as an
apprentice for Donald Trump. You must be relentless.
You must be focused. You must be strong. You must be a
tiger. And you must motivate yourself by saying things
to yourself such as, "Today, I'll Get Even Richer.
Today, I'll be a TIGER in my job search!

(NOTE: We know about those professionals who don't
like the word "must". But let's be realistic for a
moment: You MUST ignore them until you get the job you
MUST have in order to pay the rent. Once you have that
job, you, too, can become a person who no longer
believes in "must".)

Please visit the Files area for complementary
databases and career search materials. We encourage
you to join and invite friends and co-workers to join
us by sending an email to:
myjobtiger-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

This is one of the few non-Linkedin-specific groups I
own.  It is NOT to compete with either Linkedin nor
with My Linkedin Power Forum.  Indeed, I see them
working quite nicely together.   If it desires to do
so, Linkedin management is also encouraged to share
jobs there, too.

It is not a socializing group.  It is only for people
who are ready to do the hard work to find the right
job.   Therefore, responsible recruiters are welcomed
to post jobs there.

Those things being said, because I really want to help
people get jobs in shorter time frames, the email
volume on MyJobTIGER, in all likelihood, will be LOTS
HIGHER than on My Linkedin Power Forum!!

Thanks, and "Go get 'em, T.I.G.E.R."!
